stoopid....

Yesterday I felt so good I was out and about in the yard doing things that needed to get done.  WOW it was a good day and I was proud of all I accomplished!  Then came bedtime.  I couldn't sleep and would only doze off for an hour or so and then lay there awake.  So instead of staying in bed I got up and started watching TV and decided I must be hungry.  Where this idea came from I don't know...this is the stupid part...I decided to eat some biscuits and gravy.  I think that me having been gluten free almost a year eating real wheat biscuits and having an intolerance to pork eating sausage gravy was tantamount to someone telling me to jump off a bridge and me doing it!  WHY?

Well today I have spent in bed rolled up in a little ball begging my stomach to quit hurting.  I have nausea, no vomiting, bloating, my stomach rumbles and grumbles every five seconds!  Diarrhea?  Yeah that too!  I feel like someone has worked me over with a baseball bat and every muscle in my body hurts...not an ache a pain!  I guess that doctors suggestion that I not eat gluten wasn't just a suggestion that my foolish brain was telling me  as I rationalized eating those biscuits...4 of them...they tasted so good!  This won't happen again for a while.  I am miserable and unfortunately I have to take blame on the reason why!

Celiac.com has an interesting take on the up rise of autoimmune disorders on their site.

The American Autoimmune Related Disease Association is citing some statistics from the NIH regarding autoimmune disorders.  It is "one of the most promising areas of new discovery"  right now!

The Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Women's Health, autoimmune disease and disorders ranked #1 in a top ten list of most popular health topics requested by callers to the National Women's Health Information Center.

I think I have the highest learning curve when I do dumb things like last night...I love Google it helps me put things in perspective.  btw Heather thanks for the iPad!  It works well when you are stuck in bed!

Me too!! We went out for lunch yesterday and hubby persuaded me to have a fizzy fruit drink rather than my usual water, and then I had a slice of cake with cream/jam in the afternoon. I was awake at 2.30 am with the same symptoms as you. Feeling better now, but I must stick to the Food Combining diet! Ali x
